Japanese flavour profiles are something I have learned, but I could still use some practice on.

Perhaps mixing miso paste with the butter to achieve an umami flavour, and possibly finely shredded nori. The dashi powder and nori would then stick to the miso butter.

Yes, this would be a perfect 'otter' meets 'Japanese' snack.
